Jason grew up on the front range of Colorado and attended the University of Colorado studying civil engineering with a focus on construction management and structural engineering.  He aspired to live in the mountains and took advantage of the access to the Rocky Mountains from Boulder during college.  Jason received “the call” from a reputable family-owned construction management firm to work as a project engineer in Jackson, Wyoming on an ED/ICU renovation and expansion.  Jason worked as a project manager and superintendent for 13 years managing $160M of community projects in the Teton region and then transitioned to a real estate investment firm as director of development overseeing $100M of local projects.  

 

Berning Project Management, an owner representative and project management firm was established in 2019 with a focus on community projects including Bridger View, a new museum campus for History Jackson Hole and a 40K sf Recreation Center Expansion to name a few.  Jason takes pride in his project management skills, sustainable design/build experience and ability to nurture successful working relationships to meet project needs.  He is passionate for innovative and lean construction methods and has a knack for assisting clients in finding best “whole value” for their projects.

 

Jason resides in Victor, Idaho with his family.  He serves on the Teton Valley Trails and Pathways Board and Teton Valley Healthcare Member Group.  In his free time you can find Jason skiing on Teton Pass, mountain bike riding in the Big Holes or traveling with his wife on multi-day offroad motorcycle trips covering sections of the Backcountry Discovery Route.
